You don’t need a sugar daddy or mommy…

Repost from my Multiply Account:

19139
I consider myself someone who has really high faith in God.
Faith in God, especially as my provider…
The one who will give me everything I ask for in prayer…
The one who says ask and you shall receive…
The one who will give me the desires of my heart… (Lord, kilala mo na siya, ay mali! Lord, alam mo na kung ano desire ko. Haha!)

Anyway, seriously, i know that without a doubt God will provide a car, a house (or a condo), a digital SLR (Nikon D80), an aircon and all those things I listed in my Christmas wishlist and more…

I don’t look at my salary but I look unto God. I know that no matter what my salary is, that is not the source of all my income… My source is My God.

But as great as that statement of my faith is, I often catch myself believing for all those things and attaching a provider other than God…

…and in most of these cases, that provider is my Mom. I pray, “God, I know that you will provide for me a laptop.” But at the back of my head, I’m thinking of when my mom will send me one… or another sort of prayer is this “God, I know that when I’m going to get married that the last thing I need to think about is finances… because you will provide… through my mom! In Jesus’ name. Amen.” This definitely is a wrong picture of what faith in God for finances is all about…

But when I catch myself praying those prayers and thinking of somebody else as my source, I pray to God to just increase my faith… and of course forgiveness for thinking such a thing! =)

And the thing about it is that most of the time, God just really amazes me of blessings coming from nowhere (exag pero pagbigyan na!), and it really is what i hang on to in times that I pray to God for all the things that I’m hoping for… For myself and for my family…

God has not just provided me with amazing MPD Partners (to know more, click here, just remember, Reyes, King – S1224), but God has provided a laptop for me and a lot more that wasn’t through her but through HIM…

I pray all you guys (especially the Groundbreakers), get encouraged to just do what God has called you to do and believe that He will be the one to provide for you…

Don’t look at what your salary is but look at who your PROVIDER is…
Don’t look at your bank account but look at GOD’S IMMEASURABLE SUPPLY…
Don’t look at what your mother and father can give but what your FATHER IN HEAVEN can give…

And my God will meet all your needs according to his glorious riches in Christ Jesus.
To our God and Father be glory for ever and ever. Amen. – Philippians 4:19-20

My 2009 Christmas wishlist…

Categories: Christmas

I think I started doing this 2 years ago… It won’t hurt to do it again… =)

My Early Christmas wishlist…

1. Books, I want to have my own personal library someday… So better start early.

2. Car, recently I’m really feeling the need to have one… Hirap mag-commute. And I think with my schedule, it’s necessary. (Kahit Ferrari na 2nd hand OK na ko. pero kung brand new OK pa din… basta diesel, mahal gas eh…)

3. Digital SLR, Nikon D60, wala lang, trip ko lang… haha! kidding. i love pictures & i love taking pictures as well… so un, wala lang akong SLR… (“wala pa”, meaning in the near future magkakaroon…) or Nikon D80!!!

4. Wireless mouse, Hindi ko talaga kayang touchpad lang…

Yeah!

7. Bagong Plasma TV… Why not diba? Kasama ng Bagong DVD Player.. =p.

8. To meet my Proverbs 31 Wife… Wala namang masama diba? Sana naman ma-meet ko na before Christmas… Hehe… 3 months to go… Possible? Why not? Hehe…

9. To see my family, it’s been 1yr and 4mos since i last saw my mom and sisters… i miss them. i’m telling you man, whatever happens, family is second. (God first kasi…)

10. World peace, kahit siguro peace in the Philippines OK na ako eh, but if i’m going to practice faith, of course i’ll dream big.

and of course, i know that faith without action is dead… so for the stuff that is kinda expensive… i’m building a storehouse, for God to bless…

1 Timothy 6:17 … but to put their hope in God, who richly provides us with everything for our enjoyment.

Deuteronomy 28:8 (The Message/King International Version) God will order a blessing on your storehouses; he’ll bless you in the land that God, your God, is giving you.

Birds of the same feather… =)

Last Friday, Ptr. LA preached about the importance of having Godly people around you…
Here’s how my notes looked like…

STOP – Being independent
> There are always things that you need help with… So humble yourself and get help!

James 4:6 (New International Version)
But he gives us more grace. That is why Scripture says:
“God opposes the proud but gives grace to the humble.”

LOOK – For people to help you
> Look for the right people to get help from… People who are not only book smart but also wise… =)

Proverbs 15:22 (New International Version)
Plans fail for lack of counsel, but with many advisers they succeed.

LISTEN – To Godly Advice
> If you ask for Godly advice, be ready to listen to it and give importance… Don’t brush it off! Grrr… =p

1 Kings 12:6-8 (Rehoboam’s Story… He didn’t listen to the wise advisers. And we know what happened… Tsk tsk…)

Proverbs 12:1 (New International Version) – I like this verse, direct to the point!
Whoever loves discipline loves knowledge, but he who hates correction is stupid.

Proverbs 12:15 (New International Version)
The way of a fool seems right to him, but a wise man listens to advice.

Proverbs 13:20
He who walks with the wise grows wise, but a companion of fools suffers harm.

Do you want to be wise or be a fool and suffer harm? Birds of the same feather are the same birds…

The Importance Of Experience…

Last Friday, Level-Up Youth Service (which happens every friday @ Victory Pioneer) was honored to have Ptr. LA preach! He preached an awesome word about the importance of having Godly people around you (more of that in another blog)!

Anyway, after the service, he talked to us (Ria & I) about our service format, about the worship, about the ministry time and even about the announcements!

I was thinking about the things that he said (some I had a gut feel about), and was wondering how he could have seen all that in just one visit! (Woah talaga!)

Then as we were walking through the parking lot, he said this… “I learned all these things through 10 years of doing Youth Ministry…” (Hmmm… I thought… Very interesting.)

After that, we ate at their place with some friends…

Things I learned that day…
1. Be Sensitive. (Gut feel is sometimes the Holy Spirit leading you to do something out of the plan. So listen to the leading!)
2. Be Humble. (There is always someone with more experience or someone who can see what you cannot see… So ask questions!)
3. Be Thankful. (For the team that you have. Volunteers and Full-time. So tell them you appreciate them!)

I’m thankful to be part of a team with tons of National-level ministry experiences… (Ahem. Ptr. L.A. and Ptr. Robert)

Change the Campus, Change the World…

I stumbled upon Victory@25’s website and was looking at the freebies section… I was thinking, “Oooo! Cool! Freebies!” Anyway, I was able to download this wallpaper…

Change the Campus, Change the World...

Change the Campus, Change the World...

I instantly appreciated how much Ptr. Steve and the other missionaries invested on the lives of the young people at the Tandem Cinema (U-Belt)…

The 2-month/6-month/25years(for Ptr. Steve) 50 people outreach that they did 25 years ago became a church of about 50,000 today… (And has members all over the world now… Even church plants through Every Nation Ministries… =))

They believe(d) in young people…

And that’s what we do as Campus Missionaries… We believe more than anything that as we work with the youth, serve them, teach them Biblical standards of Leadership, Integrity, Faith and Excellence (L.I.F.E.) and more importantly lead them to have a relationship with God… We can indeed change the world…

I Love My Job…

Busy or Not Busy?

Last week I preached a word about how we have unlimited access to God…
What that means is that…
…we can reach Him… (there is no “The subscriber cannot be reached”)
…that He is always in the area… (there is no “The number you are calling is either unattended or out of the coverage area”)
… and that He can always hear us… (there is no “weak signal”)

Access to God is possible because of Jesus Christ…
Therefore, since we have been justified through faith, we have peace with God through our Lord Jesus Christ, through whom we have gained access by faith into this grace in which we now stand. And we rejoice in the hope of the glory of God. – Romans 5:1-2

JFK with Son

I ended with a picture of JFK and his son in the Oval Office… The photo was taken during the Cuba Missile Crisis of 1962… Even though the US was in danger of being attacked, JFK was not too busy for his son… He allowed his son to play around his office… What a picture of how a father is never too busy for his son…

And in the same way, God, who is our father, is never too busy for us…

“I will be a Father to you, and you will be my sons and daughters, says the Lord Almighty…” – 2Corinthians 6:18

But the whole week after preaching that message, the question that popped into my head is this…

“Am I sometimes too busy for God?”

Victory @ 25… Update!!!

Less than two months to go before our event of the year—Victory@25! Our much awaited anniversary celebration will be held on July 24, 3-5PM and 8-10PM at the Araneta Coliseum. It’s going to be a night of just coming together as a family, celebrating and honoring God for the past, present, and future. (From Victory’s website. Hehe…)

Anyway, the registration was just C-R-A-Z-Y… We (Referring to the people who registered us. Mad props to Macy, Janelle and Charis) went in thinking we could get the best seats if we registered on the first day and at the opening of the mall… We ended the day thinking that we had 10,000 people who thought the same as us… Long story short, we didn’t get the best seats (Patron or even Lowerbox) but it’s OK… It’s not the seats that matter but the reason why we’re going… And that is to celebrate God’s faithfulness in the past, present and claiming it for the future… SEE YOU GUYS THERE!!!

^_^

If you want to know more about Victory… Go to THIS website…

BTW, Victory Pioneer has its own website as well! Click HERE to check out our schedules, announcements and listen to podcasts as well…

King’s 4th VLOG (Victory Pioneer – Operation Overdrive)

Categories: local church

June 6, 2009, we had our Operation Overdrive… 136 people came at around 630 AM to register at Victory Pioneer and later head towards key locations across the city of Mandaluyong TO PRAY… Our goal was to cover the city in prayer, pray for open doors for the gospel and claim God’s favor, blessings and protection.

We split into 18 groups and drove around Mandaluyong (and some parts of Pasig) to pray for…
1. Schools/Campuses
2. Hospitals (Yes, that includes the mental hospital!)
3. Government offices
4. Businesses
5. Residential Areas
6. Etc…

It was a great turn-out even though it was raining… Can’t wait for the next one!
